Cologne Airport’s full name is Bonn airport that holds IATA Code as CGN. This is an international airport while Cologne is  Germany‘s fourth largest city. The airport is also serving the former German capital, Bonn. The facility handled nearly 9.3 million passengers in 2012 and that makes Cologne as 7th largest airport in Germany while for cargo handling, it stands at 2nd position. As of early 2015, the airport connects to 115 destinations falling in 35 countries.  The airport is situated in Porz district and its surroundings are all green that includes Wahner Heide nature reserve. Terminal 1 is old one is designed U-shaped building housing visitors deck, check-in facilities, restaurants and shopping area and there are star-shaped piers B and C having five aircraft stands on its roof. Terminal 2 is towards the north of Terminal 1. This has separate check-in facilities but a landside walkway connects both. The airside area of Terminal 2 has pier D that connects with Terminal 1.

One can reach railway station reaching basement level of Terminal 2 arrival hall. There are convenient connections from airport to Cologne city center by public transport, that more economical compared to taxis.
